Our client was very keen to assist with sourcing some of the final design pieces, which made it even more fun and inspiring for our team. Beautiful sea glass pendants hover over the bar top and an ocean blue backsplash brings whimsical oceanic character to bright, nautical white cabinetry. A big ol’ shark marks the exterior entrance, a hallmark of the pool house before we had even arrived that we just couldn’t do without.

We love this project from a sustainable perspective as all original cedar was kept and maintained with only a hint of restaining required to restore it to its former glory, and a locally sourced cut of cottonwood was repurposed as a raw edge bar counter. To dampen the overall rustic feel of the space that often results from wood components like this, a light, modern feel was derived from tinted concrete, creamy tiles, white millwork, and gold hardware accents.

When we finish each and every one of our projects, we hope that our clients walk into their spaces every day with a new sense of calm and pride. For this special project, we have received the ultimate compliment: our clients now say that they spend more time in this room than any other in their home, whether relaxing, gathering, sharing a meal, watching a movie, or… oh right… actually going for a swim!
