Rosedale
Situated in one of Calgary’s beloved heritage neighbourhoods, this Rosedale residence captured our hearts immediately upon entering. Well-preserved historic millwork and quirky features were asked to be honoured and celebrated by our client – a practice we wish to be adopted more in a world where all new reigns supreme, while the thoughtful and delicate details of the past are often hurriedly discarded.
SIZE – 1250 Sq.Ft
AREA – Kitchen & Partial Main Floor
Assisting in the preservation of this beautiful home was the client themselves – with a keen eye for Design, this couple worked tirelessly alongside us to ensure all the fine details led back to the original essence of the house, albeit with an updated flair.
The executive decision to leave the footprint of the kitchen as was existing, with offbeat bay windows popping in and out of the space, preserved the unique structural features of the house, alongside the original paneling and soaring angular ceiling of the grand staircase adjacent to the feature fireplace of the great room. Chocolatey-rich millwork, warm neutrals, antiqued brass, stately crown mouldings and casements, and finer moments such as a fluted island and vintage-style cabinet latches all continue to work with a host of other features to evoke a sense of historic elegance and grandeur.
